Please note: This Java applet will not run on certain browsers, notably Mac Netscape Java Beta 1, or Netscape for Windows 3.1. This applet is still in development, and is far from being bug-free. I've put this chat page up to demonstrate Java, and to let new users experience the world on online chatting! This chat feature will only work when the EarthWeb Chat Server is operating. If the server is down, then we have no chat. Sorry! I assume no responsibility for any damage or loss caused by the operation of this Java application!

Known Problems If you have problems logging on, or re-connecting, try changing to a new name. You may use your real name or a nickname, if you prefer. The channel list window will only close when you click on the CLOSE button. Again, this Java a pplet WILL NOT work with Mac Netscape Java Beta 1, or Netscape for Windows 3.1. Please also note that the Chat applet does not presently work behind a firewall. Sometimes it takes a few seconds to connect, so please be patitent!
