Gateway to World History
Somebody spent a lot of time searching the net to compile this helpful page. It includes links to dozens of sites including reference works, archives, and other on-line sources.
Center for American History
This is a special collections library and archive supporting research, teaching, and other activities relating to the history of the United States. Includes on-line exhibits.
WWII Archive
Includes materials from the Stars and Stripes Newspaper, maps and battle plans, famous speeches, and news reel footage. Very interesting section on Patch High School students visiting Normandy during D-day commemorations.
Alabama History
Every state should have a history page! This one describes State flags, literary map of Alabama, and an account of the secession from the Union. Also interviews with famous Alabamians.
Medieval History
The Dark Ages--that great age of understanding, tolerance, and religious freedom, can be explored on this page. Maintained by the Society for Creative Anachronism, this site includes a digitial image of the Bayeux Tapestry, medieval wedding information, and a lot of other medieval stuff (but no torture chamber).
The Stone Age
Interesting museum page with a virtual tour of "Flints and Stone: Real Life in Prehistory."
History Resources
This is the ULTIMATE link to history sites on the Net. Every possible subject.
