Teaching Package on CDS/ISIS

This is an old MSDOS based teaching package for the Unesco's Information Storage and Retrieval system CDS-ISIS. It is developed as an electronically recorded book. It is divided into sixteen chapters, each presenting background information and guiding the learner to interact with CDS/ISIS in a simulated environment. It simulates the running of CDS/ISIS by allowing and accepting keyboard input of command codes and data; obeying the commands and processing the data, using graphic screens, text screens and screens captured from CDS/ISIS. It also makes use of text windows, keyboard emulation, prompts and branching within using menus. TEPACIS includes enough background information on database formats, steps in designing a bibliographic data base, inverted index files and so on.. to make it useful to those interested in bibliographic databases in general. You can download and try it out. It has to be extracted from the Zip file and run under MSDOS. You may have
to restart your PC in MSDOS mode to run the CAI properly. There is a help message which can be displayed by typing HELP.
