(Filipino-Nihon Couples' Association)

FINICA or the Filipino-Nihon Couples' Association is a voluntary non-sectarian organization of Filpino-Japanese Couples commited to working towards better relationships between husband and wife, and strengthening family relationships despite cultural differences.

From this point FINICA strives to strenghten the bond between husband and wife particularly by studying, understanding and reconciling cultural differences and language barriers that directly or indirectly affects them and their families.

FINICA believes that a united community of bicultural family is necessary to show that it can be positively achived despitecultural differences, and to stand as an example and to guide those couples who have the same aspirations.

FINICA's goal in uniting and raising the awareness of the Filipino and Japanese couple is founded on recognition of the many intricate issues and problems faced by couple which usually started at miscommunication and ended up in divorce. As FINICA affirm,divorce is not necessary and better alternative solution available.

OBJECTIVE AND PURPOSE

FINICA primarily take endeavor in uniting Filipino and Japanese couples. In pursuit of this goal, FINICA will aspire to achieve the following:

1. To build a strong organization of Filipino-Japanese Couples in Japan that shall work towards the promotion of a united bicultural family.

2. To help develop the capability of each couple to understand and reconcile their differences that directly and indirectly affects them by means of Family Seminars, Marriage Counseling and culture-sharing activities.

3. To forge solidarity and cooperation on common issues and concerns with the other Filipino and Japanese organizations in Japan.

4. To draw up and initiate actions that would encourage an active participation of Filipino-Japanese couple in promoting unity, as well to contribute moral upliftment to Japan same as to The Philippines.
