The community organises a series of events and participates in a variety
of functions organised by local or national church and/or charity organisations.
Greek evening
One of the most popular events is the Hellenic evening organised every six months. It consists a major event where guests can enjoy hellenic food and entertainment including live music, hellenic dancing etc.
The next evening is scheduled for Saturday 1st of November 1997 in Milton Keynes.
We are expecting the participation of local MPs and others representing local authorities.
The programme includes performance of traditional Greek dances by the dancing group LYRA.
There is going to be live music and sale of raffle tickets with a lot of nice gifts.
Tickets are vailable through the Committee members.
75th Anniversity of the Orthodox Archdiocese
This year we celebrate the 75th Anniversary from the Establishment of the Holly Archdiocese of Great Britain.
Among the other celebrations organised throughout the country, we organise a local function in order to highlight the significance of this event.
The celebration will be held on the 7th of December 1997 in St Martin's church in Fenny Strattford, Bletchley, Milton Keynes.
The programme will be as follows:
11:30 Greek Orthodox service
13:30 Presentation speech (in English) on the History and achievements of the Orthodox Archdiocese of Great Britain.
14:00 Welcome reception and buffet lunch in St. Martin's Hall in Central Bletchley in Milton Keynes.
