I am in the process of trying to leave an easy trail for my son, Brian Patrick Rea, to find me. I gave him up for adoption 20 years ago and have always hoped he would find me some day. I don't want to disrupt his life, so I hesitate to go all out searching for him.
He was born in the U.S. Naval Hospital in Annapolis, MD on April 27th, 1978 at 9:49am. He was one of the last babies born there, as the Obstetrics wing closed the month he was born. He was 9 lbs, 8 ozs at birth - a beautiful brown-eyed brown-haired baby with good lungs and a great grip! The adoption was facilitated by CATHOLIC CHARITIES in DC. I was told his father is a lawyer, and his mother stayed at home raising their 3 yr old adopted daughter. They lived in Montgomery County, MD at the time, possibly in Damascus. I understand they re-named him, so I really don't know what to call him anymore. He's always been my little Brian. I am registered on the International Soundex Reunion Registry in hopes he will also go that route in order to find and be found.
He is one of the most wonderful parts of my life. I wanted to give him the world. The only way I could do that was to let someone else do it for me.
Background: Air Force brat. Grew up mostly in Bowie, MD. I met Brian's father on an ECHO retreat. He lived on Andrews AFB (also an Air Force brat!) and went to McNamara High School. He went off to St Joe's in Rensselaer, IN and we corresponded during the pregnancy. Lost touch with him shortly after Brian was relinquished. Meantime, I went off to various colleges in Maryland and Ohio, spent 6 years in the Air National Guard at Andrews AFB (also, my place of birth) and was hired by MCI in 1985 as an electronics technician.
