In the morning we went out to the pits outside of our school, and found the one we were assigned to. We started to dig, and when we were finished the hole was about 3 feet deep. We buried all our artifacts at different levels of the pit. Later on in the afternoon, we went to a different hole and dug up the opposite team's artifacts which would tell us about their culture. It took a long time to finally uncover it all, but we got it done. The next day we spread the artifacts all over the floor of our classroom, and made our best "scientific" guesses about their civilization to use at the face-off.
