Computer-Assisted Language Learning

Computer-Assisted Language Learning (CALL) is the name given to the acquistion of a foreign language through software used on a computer. The following are links that encompass information on CALL from research to reviews to sample online software.

TESL-L, a listserv received through e-mail, has a CALL-specific branch. To subscribe to it send an e-mail message to listserv@cunyvm.cuny.edu. In the body of the message include the following: "sub TESL-L yourfirstname yourlastname" and "sub TESLCA-L yourfirstname yourlastname," (using your name). TESL-L is the main list. You must subscribe to it in order to subscribe to TESLCA-L, the CALL-specific discussion. If you do not wish to receive the TESL-L discussion you must send another message with the following command in the body: "set TESL-L nomail". You will receive further instructions.
