Me and my buds Odd Walter and Arnt Rune embarked on a tour in July/August'97, playing 13 gigs in 6 weeks, and covered more miles than I'll ever care to remember...*s*
After jumping the gun with an improvised gig to cover for a band not showing up at Arnt Rune's base of the summer - Herøy, we travelled to the nearby island of Dønna, to do a couple of gigs there. Yes, the first gig was at the place Odd W is pointing out on top of the mountain...*s* And it was FUN! The pic, btw, is taken at about 0430am...midnight sun is just too damn nice... :)
The following week we did a pretty boring gig at another place on Dønna, and then spent the whole of the next day in the car in order to get to Trondheim, to play for virtually nobody... After a couple of days in Trondheim, we had a gig cancelled and went to Odd W's base - Brønnøysund. There we had a couple of weeks off, to recoup and enjoy the scenery...
Then followed a couple of mediocre gigs before we headed north for the Lofoten islands - if you are thinking of going someplace once, Lofoten is it. I hope the pics following will convince you all... *s*
We enjoyed some marvellous weather all summer, which made Lofoten a breathtaking experience. Such scenery....
After landing on the rocky shores of Lofoten, we played two consecutive nights at a place called Hamnøy. Great, great, great fun!
From the left: Odd Walter Bakksjø (6-string electric, vocals), Morten Ludvigsen (12-string acoustic, vocals), Arnt Rune Eide (Bass-Guitar, vocals).
I DID mention the scenery, didn't I? :)
The second night at Hamnøy was a bit slower than the first, but great fun anyway. Then we headed back south to the Brønnøysund/Sandnessjøen region and did a couple of more gigs there, before heading to our respective homes to start working again. You see, all three of us are teachers...
