I've spent most of today whittling my Eudora inbox from 348 messages down to a decent 53. Unfortunately, most of those still ended up in my URMANS! Folder (that's "URGENT, REALLY MUST ANSWER NOW, SERIOUSLY!"). The list of potentially annoyed correspondents grows longer.

Even so, it was nice getting hang-in-there messages from people I'd never heard from before, and I also got a couple of pointers to other jobs about town. Tomorrow I start a new schedule at Queen's, so we'll see how that turns out. If dealing with the crazies (I'm so P.C.) turns out to be too much, I very well might end up working with Nate. I can handle his harassment... so long as they don't make me relocate to Oregon.

I also got a smattering of impromptu Cummings-inspired poetry 'cause of the new stuff on my "Fancy" page, some of it original. Maybe I'll get to share one that I really liked from my friend Richard (Hi Richard!)... stay tuned.

All in all, losing my job has turned out to be more fun than I thought.

I just noticed... there's no brand name (or any name -- whaddahell?) on this monitor. No serial numbers, either.

It figures, though. It's ugly; round where it should be flat and vice versa. I bet there's a perfectly good monitor here... it's just sealed inside a fishbowl for some ungodly reason. I told Carl (the guy who loaned it to me) that the picture was kinda fuzzy, and he said that's how it always was. What self-respecting manufacturer would want to take credit for building this thing?

I'm getting dizzy.

It's a quiet Sunday night alone for me. I finally connected with Jen after a zillion calls, but tonight she's going to spend some "QT" (her term -- quality time) with her not-long-haired-but-still-worthy boyfriend. Maybe we'll go to Moose's (a typically rowdy college bar) tomorrow after work... we haven't gone in ages.

Still, I'll be fine. A semi-edited version of "Excaliber" is on cable tonight, and I've got one more pack of nukable popcorn.

I wonder... did "Excaliber" come out before or after "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" did? Now that I think about it, the latter sure smells like an almost point-for-point parody of the former.
