Aquarius: Masculine Air Fixed

Character:

Kind, friendly, rather distant, and frequently unpredictable; one’s first impression of an Aquarian is a sympathetic one, and indeed he will generally be a sympathetic character. But the feeling of distance is also important: the Aquarian will be ready to help others at the moment’s notice, but will always remain personally detached. Often it is extremely important to feel really close to him.

Personally independence is of enourmous importance to him, and he is capable of making great sacrifices for it - even to the point of rejecting intimate relationships. More conventional people will, for these reasons - and because of this unpredictability - find themselves at odds with him, particularly since his pursuit of ‘causes’ - anti-war protest, maybe, or devotion to a particular charity - will strike them as ‘different’, even unsympethetic.

Their atitude will not worry him: he will shrug his shoulder, used to being ‘out of the limb’. He will always have the original streak, and his application of this can range from finding new and original outlets for his artistic talents or scientific ability, to a passion for originality at all costs, leading to crankiness, pseudo-artiness, or wildly unconventional forms of absentmindedness.

Although he will be much in favour of reform and change, and the advancement of the human condition, he may be equally stubborn - modern in outlook, but fixed in his opinion. He is not easily persuaded that he is wrong. Some fing this mixture of kind of freindliness and obstinate insistence on the rightness of his own opinions very disconcerting. The result is that the Aquarian has an aloof glamour that is fasinating and dynamic - but not warm or endearing.
