Publishers, Distributors and Online Booksellers
Home School Distributors
Family Unschoolers
Network. I haven't ordered anything from them yet
although I did send emails back and forth about The Rosetta
Stone language learning software that they carry. They
provide a discount for home schoolers.
Online Booksellers
- Advanced Book
Exchange, good for finding used books.
- Amazon.Com, huge online
store with good book reviews. I find that they are about the
worst of the online booksellers for textbooks based on price.
They have nice reviews for a lot of books though.
- Barnes and
Noble, huge online and retail store. I've shopped at
both with no problems. I received a 30% discount on one of
the college texts that I ordered from them.
- Best Book Buys.
They search other book sites and return price information
so that you can comparison shop.
- Bibliofind,
online used book search. I've used them with no problems.
- Bookfinder, search for
out of print and used books.
-
Books 4 Home School,
Used Curriculum Sites of Interest to Homeschoolers.
I haven't used this service.
- ecampus.com, college
bookseller. They have the best prices that I've seen so
far. I haven't ordered from them yet.
- Follett's. They carry
new and used college textbooks though they never seem to
have the books that I'm looking for. I also found their
website to be harder to use compared to Varsitybooks and
Bigwords. I've never ordered anything from them though I
did try a few times.
- Interloc, The
Electronic Marketplace, used books exchange. I've used this
service with no problems.
- K12Books is a place
to buy and sell K12 textbooks. The sellers, from what I
can see, are school districts. The prices for many new texts
are below 50% of list price.
- Textbooksatcost.com
contains a wide selection of college textbooks
including used texts. I didn't see a price advantage over
other sites for a selected sampling of books that I'm
familiar with. I haven't ordered from them.
