JABARUT(LAND OF DIVINE POWER/DOMINION):-This is the realm of the
revealed God acting within Creation;the realm of "THOU ART HE HIMSELF AND HE
IS THOU THYSELF." The Bab in the Tafsir surat al-kawthar expresses this realm
as"...It signifieth the Word(kalima)which shone forth on MOUNT SINAI(tajallat
ala at-tur as-sina)and cried out from the Crimson Tree(shajarat al-hamra)from the
right side of the Mount(YAMIN AT-TUR)in the blessed spot(al-buq'a al-mubaraka)in
the Land of Divine Power(ard al-jabarut)..."I call this realm the residence
of the metaphysical entity of Manifestations of God.It is to this realm that the
terminologies Sinaitic Tree/Celestial Tree/Lote Tree refer to which are used both
by Bab and Bahaullah. In one of the epistles Bahaullah explains that"...The Holy
Tree(sidra) is in a sense ,the Manifestation of One True God,exalted be He.The Blessed
Tree in the land of za'faran referreth to the land which is flourishing, blessed, holy
and all perfumed ,where that Tree ihath been planted.."The quranic term 'Lote
Tree'is,then symbolic of the great Prophets or Manifestations of God,including Bahaullah. The
place of their residence or where the 'Lote Tree'is planted is the sacred 'Land of
Saffron'.So this realm could also be termed "LAND OF SAFFRON".This realm
is also called the paradise of conditioned oneness(wahidiyya),the all highest paradise. This
is also the realm of God's actions and decrees. This appears to be realm of timelessness
and self contained within its sphere of existence.
Bahaullah defines this realm in the four valley's(4th valley) as "the
realm of AbsoluteCommand"(alam-i-amr)which among the divine kingdoms described
by islamic mystics is the realm wherein the divine Manifestations abide invested
with their full authority over all created things. He further describes"the exalted
dwellers in this paradise" as kingly personages sitting upon"the Throne
of the Ancient of Days...in the Empyrean of Might within the Lofty Pavilion,"wielding
"divine authority" (uluhiyyat mi-namayana) and bearing "a kingly sceptre,"(rububiyyat
mifarmayana) issuing their commands, and bestowing"gifts according to each man's
deserving" Their condition is that of perfect peace. And yet they are in continous
activity and proffer an incorruptible and a delicate draught that confer knowledge, love, faith
and power to anyone who partakes of them.In this state there is utter self effacement
that even love is percieved as a 'veil betwixt the lover and the beloved,"and
as a shroud that will lessen the joy of nearness to such a "beauty's rose".Bahaullah
expresses this station in the Epistle to Son of Wolf(lawh-i-ibn-i-dhib)"O Shaykh!
This station is station in which one dieth to himself and liveth in God.Divinity, whenever
I mention it indicateth My complete and absolute self effacement. This is the station
in which I have no control over mine own weal or woe nor even my life nor over my
resurrection."
