My interests (in no particular order):

Music (mostly classical)
-including that playable by a computer (see my classical MIDI page). I play (classical) piano and (classical) organ.
-With a MIDI-capable equipment, you can listen to the MIDI files I made.
Physics (mostly quantum) and Math.
In physics, my research area is theoretical (quantum) cosmology. As for math, I like it but I don't know enough to do research in mathematics proper.
Literature
-including, but not limited to, these electronic texts

And thinking about (one at a time) and such things.

About myself

A brief CV: Born in Moscow, I grew up in Kharkov (Ukraine) and then in Moscow (Russia). I spent 6 years at the Gnesiny Special Music School in Moscow, studying violin and piano, but then it was decided that I won't become a musician. I transferred to and graduated from a math-oriented school (No. 57, for those who know). Then I studied at MIPT (or "PhysTech", as it is frequently referred to) for 4 years, after which it got really unpleasant. Fortunately I got accepted into grad school in the US and left Russia.

In summer of 1992 I arrived to Boston, USA, where I spent 5 years doing a PhD in physics at Tufts University. In the meantime, my family moved to Germany (they now live in Bavaria).

Then I worked for two years as a research associate at the University of Cambridge (England), Dept. of Applied Maths (that's where Stephen Hawking is).

In 1999, I moved back to the US: first to Cleveland, Ohio, for postdocs at the department of physics at CWRU, and then back at Tufts.

In the fall of 2002 I moved back to Germany. Right now I'm a research associate at the department of physics, Ludwig-Maximilian University, in Munich.
