Question:
Why does the phone cord keep getting tangled?
The Answer:
Don't blame the cord for this one bub. It's your fault.
You're the one responsible for getting it all tangled up.
Here's how it happens. The phone rings, and (if you're a
right-handed) you pick up the receiver with your right hand
and turn it 90 degrees clockwise before putting it to your
right ear. After a while, your ear starts to hurt, so you
turn the receiver 180 degrees clockwise and put it to your
left ear. Finally, you're ready to end the call, so you
twist the receiver another 90 degrees clockwise and hang it
up.
See what you did? You've turned the receiver 360 degrees
and added another twist to the cord. Multiply that by a
couple of dozen phone calls and your cord quickly becomes
an out of control mess.

"Try to do not only WHAT your husband wishes in household
matters but also WHEN and HOW he wishes."
I was in the Library on Friday and came across that quote
from the 1877 Old Farmer's Almanac. Here are two more
suggestions for wives.
- Never speak slightingly or bitterly of or to your husband.
- Speak gently always, and do now allow your voice to
become sharp and loud.
