Hey, y'all. Glad you could make it here. Hope the trip wasn't too bad. Just a little place in cyberspace to put a bit of biographical information. And for the record, no, the picture at the top is NOT a self-portrait, although my students would probably beg to differ!!
I interviewed myself to let you know who I am and what I am all about.
Here's the interview:
What is your name?: Gary Breakfield
Age: 34
Home: Clewiston, Florida
Well, where is Clewiston?: Look on a map of Florida and find that big ol' hole in the bottom of the state. That's Lake Okeechobee. Look at the southern tip. That's right, out in the boonies. That's Clewiston! America's Sweetest Town.
Why is it called that?: We grow sugar cane. Lots of it.
Occupation: Teacher
What do you teach?: Students. What else?
What subject?: Oh. Sorry. Math in sixth grade and then I teach at night for Edison Community College.
Anything Else?: Yeah, like a have a lot of time on top of what I am already doing.
Where do you teach?: Clewiston Middle School.
Where did you go to college?: OHIO STATE!!! GO BUCKEYES!!!
You from Ohio?: Before I moved down here to Florida, yup. Sabina, the Eden of Ohio
What about before that?: Well, I was born in Maryland, spent two years in Spain and three in England before returning to the states.
Hobbies?: Singing (I'm a bathroom baritone), sports, bicycling, tennis, computers, guitars...
Married?: Nope.
Children?: No. Kinda thought marriage ought to come first.
You involved in anything else?: Yes, I am teaching a class for Edison Community College, and I am the Loyal Knight of Clewiston Elks #1853.
More College?: Graduated from the University of South Florida with a Master's in December 1997. Gonna start a Doctorate in the next year or two.
Why?: Gonna be a principal one day...maybe,...maybe a college professor instead. Just want to keep a lot of options open.
Any place you like to visit? Yeah...I get to the Florida Keys whenever I can. I like Key West, although I do not participate in the alternative lifestyle (i.e. homosexual) down there. I have been to Las Vegas six times in the last couple of years, since I really love that town. I also enjoy going back to Ohio and giving my two nieces lots of loud toys, then leaving my sister and brother-in-law to deal with it. Still haven't figured out a way to ensure that those batteries stay in the toys...
