Vastness
beyond imagination
power circling
moving
forces yet unknown
pulling
this way and that
a galaxy
hidden among millions
galaxies here and there
filling the universe
a universe
created by a thought
His thought, His word
hanging the stars
spinning the galaxies together
causing planets to form
circling stars
His word bringing life
to a single planet
trees, land, water
His word filling the air
animals springing to life
birds soar through the sky
deer roam the forests
rabbits hop across the plains
and a man stands up from the dirt
His breath upon the man
His breath creating him
giving him life
the man walks
among the animals
the trees
climbing the mountains
swimming the rivers
but all alone
sleep fell upon him
His hand pulling a part
from the sleeping man's side
His hand forming the piece
into another being
a woman
man's prize
man's partner
made from his own rib
these two lived
while He watched
His hand moving
guiding mankind
as they grew
filling the earth
His hand setting forth events
guiding His creation
His universe
His word and His hand
moving
speaking
nothing happening
beyond his knowledge
all belonging to Him
all depending on Him
the center of the universe
the world flying by
time going and going
never stopping
the world spinning in complexity
beyond man's comprehension
yet not His
He plans it all
formulating
placing
His plans behind
all things occuring
behind all mankind
all known to Him
understood by Him
all seen by Him
yet He stops
listening
waiting
for me to speak
as if my words
replaced all else
as if my words
were His life
His love
He stops
holding out His arms
reaching toward me
but not forcing
watching, waiting
as life crushes me
brings me to my knees
He waits
all creation poised
for one moment
all time building
to just that moment
when a child cried out
and the Father answered
wrapping His child
in His arms
holding
loving
a family reunited
as all creation cheers
at times culmination
on that day
long after it all began
when a child, me,
finally came home.....
