Martin Kalb also known as George Martin Kalb may have been the son of John kalb of Huttendorf, Germany. Family rumor has it that Martin was the brother of John, who was the father of Revolutionary fame hero, Major General Baron DeKalb.
On June 22, 1728 Martin left the port of Rotterdam on the ship Albany sailing for Philidephia. He took the oath of Allegiance on the day he landed, Sept 4, 1728. Martin bought 150 acres thirty miles NW of Philidelphia near the village of Limerick. Martin and his family are listed in several Lutheran Church records in the area. He died at the age of 83 and is buried at New Hanover Church cemetery.HOME SURNAMES NAMES
