MORE ALIKE
A profound thought came to me the other day,
The nature of human beings is the same I’d say,
It is the habits and prejudice that drive us all apart,
For there is within all a spark of love in each heart.

Colour, class, creed and their way of everyday life
Should not make a difference to bring hurt and strife
But bind us close together like a multi coloured quilt,
Live in love and harmony not in fear, distrust and guilt.

If every individual tried hard to show equality to all,
Try not to show distrust or fear or prejudice or call
People names, and by thoughts push them far away
Because they are different than you in some way.

For there are more things in common than we think
And it is a shame that the world could be on the brink
Of war with it’s pain, cruelty, fear and the grief it brings,
When we are all children of God, a wonderful thing.
