EVENING TIME
Sitting on the balcony in the evening time
When evening is finished and the scent of pine
Carries across the lake and refreshes the cooler air.
It is a good place to relax and gaze at the beauty there.
The morning and afternoon in summer is just too hot
To enjoy some time to sit in that special, lovely spot,
So when the evening meal is finished and the dishes done
It is a great place to relax when most of the heat has gone.
I make some funny curly-worm bookmarks or a square,
Or just sit and feel the breeze and see the loveliness there,
It is usually much to bright to go and sit and read a book,
But at every train that goes by we both come and take a look.
Come when the sun has cooled a little at the end of the day,
Come and sit and chat and while a little peaceful time away,
Enjoy the free gifts of nature, watch all the simple things,
Soak up all the beauty that a pleasant evening always brings.
