Calvin Center: Boy injured in cave-in


CALVIN CENTER - Family members rescued a 10-year old boy who was digging a tunnel into the side oof a hill when it caved in on him Sunday afternoon.

Cass County deputies and a member of the Cass Ambulance crew performed CPR on the child,who was taken from the residence on Wade Road to Lee Memorial Hospital in Dowagiac, then airlifted by Air-Care to Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo where he was listed in critical condition. The boy's name was not released. The accident scene was one mile east of here.

Deputies Clinton Roach and Steven Keene are investigating the incident for the Cass County Sheriff's Department.
