This is from the menu in the year 2000 from the Rose and Crown pub in Severn Stoke, a village about 3 miles south of Kempsey. See the last paragraph for details of the werewolf rumour.

THE ROSE AND CROWN

AT SEVERN STOKE

Telephone 01905 371249

Welcome to the Rose and Crown, the
oldest pub site in Worcestershire with
evidence of bacchanalian activity dating
back to the bronze and stoneage and up
through the Roman occupation with the
remarkably preserved and restored remains
of a Roman Bath-house in the garden.

Situated on the old Roman wine route
from Bristol to York known as Bottling
Street which was bypassed by the A.38, the
Inn still stocks superb wines from
throughout the civilised world and some
fine Australian chardonnay.

This menu is served seven days a week
Lunch and Evening up to 9.30pm. There
are also our 'Daily Specials' on the
blackboard, and don't forget our superb
Sunday Lunch, we never do.

The Rose and Crown is an informal
country Inn so please order your food at
the bar, thanks, and feel free to ask about
anything at all that we can help with.

If you are a tourist, you might as well stay
here for the rest of the evening, there is
nothing else to see around and Kempsey is
full of Werewolves.
