Why Editors Are More Important |
Many people, particularly writers, look down on
editors as something between being Pat Robertson's fact checker and the
guy who follows behind the horses in a parade carrying a shovel. And based on what it pays, it's no wonder. However, as the
pictures on this page attest, sometimes you need a good editor.
By the way, the photograph above is not me, but rather Maxwell Perkins. In the 20th century, he was the Michael Jordan of editors. |
