Schedule of Classes

The Commerce Library Literacy Program offers free preparation classes for the GED exam (high school equivalency) and small group classes of English for Speakers of Other Languages.

To sign up for classes you may register at any of the classes or come by the CLLP office in room 217 of the Journalism Building on the TAMU-C campus 9:00 - 12:00 Monday and Wednesday or the Commerce Public Library (1210 Park Street)9:00-5:00 Thursday and Friday. You can also send an email with your name, address, and which class you will be attending to commerce@koyote.com.

GED Classes

Summer Session 2007

Begins June 12th

A tentative schedule has been set for summer and may be subject to change so you may want to call ahead to check. Classes will be held on Tuesday afternoons from 4:00 - 5:00 on June 12th, June 19th, July 10th, July 27th, and July 24th at the Commerce Public Library. Students may enroll and receive study materials covering the five sections of the GED Test. Just come to any class to sign up, or call 903-886-6858 for more information.

English for Speakers of Other Languages

English classes are offered for non-native adults wishing to learn or improve their spoken, written, and reading English skills. Classes are held on in the Journalism Building on the Texas A&M-Commerce campus or at the Commerce Public Library. Sign up at class or call 903-886-6858 for more information.


The GED Test

The General Education Development (GED) test is given at Texas A&M University - Commerce on the first Monday of every month and the third Tuesday and Thursday evenings of each month. Cost for the test and certificate is $75.00 and pre-registration with a deposit is required.
