I go to college! (sort-of)
I attend the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. You can check them out here. My major is Mechanical Engineering, so that department is here. Click here for more college links.
I am taking some time off from college, not entirely my choice. I have a pretty good job right now, though, at Land and Sky Mfg. Go ahead and check out their homepage.
One thing that I like to do a lot is talk on chat lines. One specific type of these is called a MOO. This stands for "Multi-User Dimension, Object Oriented".
I also like to play games, surf the web, and use e-mail a ton. The computer I have in my dorm room is quite limiting, but I still get by
pretty well. I like to say that I know (almost) everything, but I
don't have anything.
Specs? 386SX-16, 4MB RAM, 540MB harddrive (because the 40MB one crashed a
few years ago), and that's about it! I like to spend most of my internet
time in DOS, just because it is faster, and you don't always need
graphics, despite what some of you spoiled people may think :) And, of course, chat lines (through telnet) don't need Windows to run.
Check out some of the MOO's I frequent in the links
section.
I just got a new computer, so the above paragraph is totally wrong. I will modify this paragraph soon, but I just thought I'd add this much for now. So, in case you were collecting a fund for me because of my pitifully slow computer, you can stop that now, and just give me the money!! j/k.
Alright, I've had my new computer for several months, now. It's an Almega brand one, just say "IBM compatible". It has a Cyrix-M II processor, quite similar to a Pentium II. The processor speed is 300 MHz, and I currently have 32 MB RAM. I am looking toward buying some more memory as soon as I decide to throw some more money toward my computer. I have a 4 GB hard drive, a 14" monitor, and an old dot-matrix printer. That's something that needs to be upgraded, too. I have a 56K internal modem. I also have a mouse (everybody does!), but it would probably be easier if I didn't have one at all, since it decides to not work for a very large percent of the time. Any suggestions on what to do with it??
I love to ride my bike. I have a 21-speed Giant Butte. I got it around 5 years ago, but it still works really well. The color is technically mulberry, but looks basically like purple.
I like to ride on the pavement, and also on offroad trails! That's the wonderful thing about mountain bikes. You can ride it anywhere you want, depending on your mood, who you are with, and what the weather is like.
I love to ride my bike all year long. I must admit that I don't go for "bike rides", as I call them (rides of 10+ miles) hardly any in the winter.
I do, however ride my bike to class every day (except when my class is ridiculously close to my dorm, and it's faster to walk, instead of taking the time that it does to lock my bike up), even when it's very cold outside, and icy, too!
You can check out a bunch of bike links further down the page.
