Although A New Hope was the first movie made in the Star Wars saga, it is actually the fourth episode.
A New Hope begins with two droids named C-3PO and R2-D2 on a star ship. A princess named Leia (Fisher), enters important information into R2 before their ship is taken over by Darth Vader (Jones), an evil Jedi.
R2 must find a man called Obi-Wan Kenobi and deliver Princess Leia's message to him. R2 and 3PO land on a planet called Tatooine and end up being sold to the Lars family, moisture farmers.
Owen (Phil Brown) and Beru (Shelagh Fraser) Lars have a nephew named Luke Skywalker (Hamill), whose father was killed by Darth Vader. Luke learns this from Obi-Wan (or Ben) Kenobi (Guinness) after R2 runs off to find him.
What happens after this, is a slew of events that changes Luke's life. He wanted to go off and join the Rebel Academy and fight against Vader's grip on the galaxy, but his uncle needed him on the moisture farm. Now Ben gives him a change to help Princess Leia and the Rebel cause.
We meet Han Solo (Ford) as the cocky pilot of the Millenium Falcon and Chewbacca, his Wookie friend and partner. They help Luke and Ben leave Tatooine and rescue Princess Leia from the Death Star (Vader's power command center).
A New Hope really brings you into the Star Wars saga and leaves you wanting more. I recommend this movie to anyone who wants to see a great movie and have a good time.
