Frodo Baggins: Elijah Wood
The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (TFOTR) is a great movie. I believe that it should have won Best Picture at the Academy Awards. Three things make this movie great: acting (and characters), story, and music.

The music of TFOTR enhances the drama and action even more. Howard Shore won an Academy Award for his rousing score.
Peter Jackson did a great job adapting J.R.R. Tolkien's novel into a movie. The books were all wonderful, but I liked how the movie didn't encorporate every single detail of the novel. It added a few things that needed to be added and it took out some trivial things that would have slowed the movie down.
Ultimately, the characters are what make TFOTR great. I have many favorite characters. Wood was a great choice to play Frodo, the same with Astin as his friend, Sam.
The story begins with a ring that Frodo must take to Mount Doom to have it destroyed. A fellowship is then formed to help him take it there.
TFOTR is a great movie and I really recommend that you see it!
