Minority Report
* * * 1/2

John Anderton: Tom Cruise
Danny Witwer: Colin Farrell
Agatha: Samantha Morton
Lamar Burgess: Max von Sydow
Rated PG-13 for violence, brief language, some sexuality and drug content.

Minority Report is another "thinking man's action movie". It stars Tom Cruise, as a cop for the Department of Pre-Crime in the year 2054, which predicts murder before it happens using pre-cogs.
Anderton believes that his pre-crime system is perfect, but he is also hurting from the murder of his son, which happened right before pre-crime was instituted. When Anderton is seen by the pre-cogs as a murderer, he runs, which sets of a fast-paced chase through an awesome future world.
Cruise did well as a hurt man who was trying to find out about himself and the world. And the movie is packed with action. I especially enjoyed the look at the year 2054: you can tell the technology difference, but the people still live a normal life (reading the newspaper - with instant updates, looking at a Pepsi ad - which addresses you by name, etc.).
This is a really well done film, which you would expect from Cruise and Spielberg.

Note: I really liked Minority Report, but it was pretty scary in some parts - a lot of surprises.
