Moulin Rouge! is set in 1899 in France. Satin (Kidman), the "Sparkling Diamond" courtesan meets Christian (McGregor), a poor writer and the two of them fall in love.
Moulin Rouge! is a wild ride. Nothing is ordinary about it, including that it is a musical. The soundtrack is absolutely amazing with the stars redoing new and old favorites. Kidman and McGregor are great as singing, as well as acting.
The film leaves you feeling sad, exhilarated, and wondering what in the heck you just saw. Moulin Rouge! is a crazy movie that you get into and don't want it to end. It's as funny as it is sad. I recommend it, although I usually don't like sad movies.
