Spider-Man
* * * *

Peter Parker/Spider-Man: Tobey Maguire
Mary Jane Watson: Kirsten Dunst
Norman Osborn/The Green Goblin: Willem Defoe
Harry Osborn: James Franco
Rated PG-13 for stylized violence and action.

Tobey Maguire plays Peter Parker, a dorky teenager who gets bitten by a genetically enhanced "super spider" and becomes the superhero, Spider-Man.
At first Parker doesn't want to use his powers for anything but his own good, but then something happens to change all that. Peter starts using his powers for good and shows up all over when something bad is going to happen to a person.
Spider-Man has a mixed reputation with the public: some think he is bad (because he is always at the scene of the crime) and some think he is good. One of Spider-Man's fans his Mary Jane Watson (Dunst), Peter's secret crush. But all they are in real life, are good friends. Mary Jane is dating Peter's best friend, Harry (Franco).
Spider-Man's worst enemy by far is Harry's dad, Norman Osborn (Defoe), who turns into the Green Goblin. Parker must keep his identity secret and lead a normal life to keep himself and the ones he loves safe.
Spider-Man is a great movie with action, emotion, comedy, and romance. Maguire brings a sweet and innocent quality to Peter Parker, but doesn't fail in the superhero department either.
