If the Shurangama Sutra is phony, then I have this guarantee for everyone. If the Shurangama Sutra is true, then of course, there is no problem. If the Shurangama Sutra is phony, then I vow that I shall fall into the hells forever and eternity - because I do not recognize the Buddhadharma, and had mistaken the false for truth. If the Shurangam Sutra is true, then life after life in every time I vow to propagate the Great Dharma of the Shurangama, that I shall in every place propagate the true priciples of the Shurangama.

If in reciting and keeping the mantra (Shurangama Mantra) one violates propriety, or if one does not keep the moral precepts, or if one is not pure, not only will one be unsuccessful with this Dharma, one will bring harm upon oneself.

The Shurangama Mantra is the most important of all mantras. It is the entire substance and function, and includes all the doctrines of the Buddhadharma. This mantra is divided into five divisions:


  • The Vajra Division is in the east, with Akshobhya Buddha as host.
  • The Production Of Jewels Division is in the south, with Jeweled Birth Buddha as host.
  • The Central Division is the Buddha Division, with Shakyamuni as host.
  • In the west is The Lotus Division, with Amitabha Buddha as host.
  • In the north is The Karma Division, with Accomplishment Buddha as host.

 

If there is not a single person in this world who can recite the Shurangama Mantra, then demons will certainly manifest, but if a single person can read and recite it, then the goblins and demons must remain in hiding. Because they are more afraid of the Shurangama Mantra than anything else, the things they want to destroy the most is the Shurangama Mantra. So when the Dharma becomes extinct, the Shurangama Mantra will be first to go , along with the Shurangama Sutra. Then the goblins and demons will come out in the world and have a field day, doing their dastardly deeds. There will be no heaven or earth at that time, no spirits, no Buddha- they will all fear absolutely nothing.

1
