yo estoy = I am
tú estás = you are
usted está = you are
él está = he is
ella está = she is
nosotros estamos = we are
ustedes están = you are
ellos(as) están = they are
Uses of estar:
(1) To ask how someone is feeling.
¿Cómo estás? = How are you?
Estoy bien. = I'm fine.
(2) To ask where someone or something is located.
¿Dónde está tu hermano? = Where's your brother?
Él está en casa. = He's at home.
(3) To ask what someone is doing at the present moment (requires a second verb as a present participle).
¿Qué están haciendo tus padres? = What are your parents doing?
Ellos están trabajando. = They're working.
