Conclusion
It is the consent of the
governed written and spoken
about for centuries that is so crucial to a republic’s establishment
and maintenance. Just how the government
represents its people,
who it allows to vote, who may be elected and by what means is fundamentally up to the people in a
republican government. When the people find it necessary, they have the power to change the way a
republic works,
and it is important for the maintenance of this republic that all people in the United States continue to help the
power flow from the
people to the republic.
