Asian-American Literature Page

Who we are:

We are a group of students at Georgian Court College, who are enrolled in a relatively new course called Asian American Literature. The professor teaching the class is Dr. Connie Chismar. The text we use is Shawn Wong's Asian American Literature- A Brief Introduction and Anthology. NY: Harper Collins College Publishers.,1996. This page will be updated by future classes, so please check back from time to time

Why we are:

During the course of this class, we turned to the internet and found the resources on Asian American writers were scarce and limited. In an effort to remedy this (and create a final project) our class built this website.

What we are:

This is a website that reviews the works of classic and contempory Asian-American writers. We attempt to distinguish between literary styles; analyze common myths and stereotypes; and increase awareness of various aspects of Asian-American cultures. We also will be including links to author pages and helpful Asian-American sites. We in no means wish to infringe on any copyrights. This is an academic undertaking and a non-profit webpage. We believe all of the graphics and images that we have used are public domain. If this is not the case, please e-mail us,cchismar@georgian.eduand we will be more than happy to remove the item in question.
