My full name is John David Blackstone, Jr. I am called either J. David or David. (And many other things that geoCities will not allow me to display on this page.) On geoCities, I call myself "ho doulos Theou" which is Koiné Greek for "the servant of God." Of course, I am not the only servant God has.
I'm a senior in Computer Science and Engineering at a Texas state university.
I am a graduate of L.D.Bell High School. For all of you out there who want to contact friends from L.D. Bell, check out my L.D. Bell alumni mailing list. In high school, I was a member of the band. I was very dedicated to the band, and had the time of my life with it, but after high school it was time to move on and free myself from the band connection in order to have more time to serve God.
Supposedly, my favorite color is green. It's not, really, but I have a bright, bright, bright green shirt. You wouldn't believe it. There's a picture of it on Jason Mellard's page. The picture doesn't really do the shirt justice. Cameras don't seem to register the color; it always comes out pale. It's even pale on my driver's license. (would you believe I'm wearing it in my driver's license photo?) Think about this: you've heard of things that glow in the dark? This shirt glows in the light!
I serve God as a real Christian, just like the people in the New Testament. I am not a member of any denomination, because these are sinful. (I Corinthians 1) I am plain and simply a Christian, with no prefixes, a member of the church of Christ that you can read about in the New Testament.
My standard of belief is the 66 books called the Bible. These books are the most historically valid books ever written. They confirm that 2000 years ago a man named Jesus, who was the Son of the God who made us, was put to death, but was raised to life again on the third day. These books teach that everyone has sinned against God:
Romans 3:10-12
There is none righteous, not even one; There is none who understands, There is none who seeks for God; All have turned aside, together they have become useless; There is none who does good, There is not even one.
However, God loved us enough to allow his Son to die in our place. Click here to find out how you can have Jesus' death substitute for you.
That's about all the information I plan to put on this page, right now. I plan to put more, later, Lord willing. I'll answer questions, if you're really that interested.
I want you all to know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. I hope that God is blessing you in many ways. May he continue to bless you and guide you into all truth. If you ever want to talk, email me or otherwise contact me. I'm always here for you. I hope you like my web page, especially the L.D. Bell alumni mailing list. By the way, I'd appreciate it if you'd all tell your friends about my page and give me info for corrections and additions to this page, specifically the mailing list. Say, while you're here, fill out my survey, so I can know you visited. This will have to do until I get a guest book.
