Learning Japanese

 I think the Japanese language is much easier to understand and learn than English. It makes much more sense to me. The vowels sounds stay the same. They do not use idioms like Americans do. Try explaining: rat race, nobody's fool, in a rut, and so on. There numbers also make sense to me. Here is a little of what I have learned so far:

Lesson Number One

A=A as in "father"

I=I as in "free"

U=U as in "oops"

E=E as in "hey"

O=O as in "oh"

So, now say Su shi. Sorry I had to do that. I love Sushi.

Here is a phrase that is very helpful when meeting someone for the first time;

Ha ji me ma shi te (this is only used the 1st time you meet)

Wa ta shi Wa (your name) De su. (I am or My name is...)

Dou zo Yo ro shi ku. (pleased to meet you)

They would respond;

Ko chi ra ko so Dou zo yo ro shi ku. (like wise...pleased to meet you)

Daily Greetings

Oh a yo Go zai ma su

(Good morning)

Kon ni chi wa

(Good day or Hello)

Kon ban wa

(Good Evening)

Oy a su mi Na sai

(Good night "said when parting for the last time")

More Basics

Su mi ma sen or Go men Na sai

(Excuse me or I'm sorry)

Do It a shi ma shi te

(you are welcome/ don't worry about it/ that's alright)

(Thank you)

Dou mo A ri ga tou Go zi a ma su

Dou zo Dou mo
