HERE IS FRANCISCO FELICIANO SANCHEZ

THE PAGE OF AZOGUE

December is a peaceful month. It is a fresh and rainy month. It is our winter, but we do not have seasons changes. We finished the season of hurricanes. I don't want to talk about them. I am not afraid of them, but I have a lot of respect to the force of nature

There is some fresh air that comes from the sea at night. It is time for promises and hopes and extrange feelings. On the branches of the flamboyn tree you can hear the melody of our bananaquit (reinita). The flamboyn is out of leaves and flowers. To those who read in Spanish, los flamboyanes estn sin hojas y sin flores. Flowers of the flamboyn were as flames of fire on July. Now we are iin the season of the flores de pascua or poincettias.

The new Millenium in running fast. I think it is very fast. Few people remember when we start talking about it. Changes are happening and we must be prepared to transform ourselves as individuals and as a society. I believe that we have done a lot of mistakes. The world is going out of our hands because we do not put our purposes in creating a society that reserve a space to all creature living on our planet. We need to live in balance with the environment. We have lost the power that allow us to communicate with nature. But we still have time to redefine our purpose in life. We need to save the planet. The World needs harmony. Respect life, avoid damages to others for their origin, race, ideas, religion etc. Me must preserve our hopes.

Humanity must think more about the future of our life. Our legacy to the future is in danger. We have to create a new order of life. Respect to every creature on the planet: every person, every plants, every animal, every stone. Everywhere: at home, on business, on job, on church, on the streets and sidewalks, on sea, sky, spiritual air. Everywhere. Respect for our students, our sons, our clients, our friends and enemies.

We are looking for new leaders for our times. For that reason I wrote Se buscan lderes (Searching for leaders)It is part of Cartas de Enn, a collection of essays. Read Reflexiones en trono a la fe como virtud.

I am taking this opportunity to tell you about me, my feelings, and hopes. Do you love poetry? I found on poetry an enchanted forest. Do you want to read one of my mystic poems published in AZOGUE, one of my books? Read also poems from Del lenguaje de la piedra, that illustrates the search of God by humanity in different ways, and finally discover that God is inside you and easy to reach "nada que pueda hacerlo sentir ausente"(nothing that make Him feel absent).

Also the institutions of the family and school left on me great values: I love to educated and form people -education do not means college- and of those who give protection to creation: love nature and respect it as God itself.

I have learned a lot from books, and from people. The WEB is more than an encyclopedia. This community is a representation of the World we are going to keep to the next millenium.

More!!! Find love and happiness meeting Nino, Rita, Giovanni, and Cuchi Cuchi, my Italian Greyhounds --lovely, delicate and excellent creatures to give tenderness in our Athens/Acropolis town. They are poets too, and will write to you beautiful messages or some advise for the welfare of our community. To those who requested to keep this page in English, I will do that, however, my intention was to write it in Spanish to my brothers and sisters of Latin America...

Good news for all of you. I have some copies of my book ENEN: el barquito de papel. It is a book of illusions and hopes. It is a dream for peace. I am calling for peace everywhere. Sometimes peace means a great amount of resistance. Enn is also called an epic poem for the new millenium. It is the epic of Puerto Rico. It is the epic of all that want a world full of brotherhood. Brotherhood is not easy, it means a great amount of hard work: understand differences, recognize mistakes, rebuiding of linkages or mutual respect. If you need more information you can mail me. A poem of my book was included in the anthology "Messengers of Rain and Other Poems From Latin America" by Claudia M. Lee. The anthology includes two Puerto Rican authors: Julia de Burgos and me.

I am publishing another book of poems in 2008, CANASTILLO. It is a miracle of beauty you will want to keep below the pillows of your bed. It is dedicated to fatherhood. If you want more information about the new book, you may contact me by e-mail to reserve your copy. It will be useful for parents, mainly to young parners that are going or are preparing to be parents. Its second part is Me naci un angel. I am also introducing some poems from the prince edition of Desde la inocencia, and some from Los duendes del campo. Both books are children poetry. Two poems of these books are included in the Antologa Poesa infantil de Puerto Rico y Per It is an anthology of poetry to children from these two countries. This is a virtual book.

I am including some poems of a collection I wrote dedicated to my memories while I was a student at Labra's Junior School, today a museum (Museo de Arte Moderno de Puerto Rico): El ladrillo en el clavel. The poems are inspired in the sixties, the momento of the cold war, the rock n' roll and the Beatles. Then I was a teenger. The old school was build of red bricks. It was the most beautiful building in Santurce. I call the school building "el clavel de Santurce" ( a carnation, honoring the flower that was the symbol of my middle school graduation. Also read Rosa de papel crep, poemas del amor and De esta forma de amar. Many years ago I wrote some poems while working in Humacao Tras la huella de la ciudad gris. This poetry is not for kids.

If you want to read poetry/literature for kids, link to Aqu est Enn.

Una cancin para mi nio.

Elogio a Nueva York.
