Jared Jeffries is one of 10 finalists for the Naismith High School Basketball Player of the Year Award that is presented annually by the Atlanta Tipoff Club.
The Bloomington North standout has led the Cougars to a perfect 18-0 record, the state's top ranking and a No. 22 ranking nationally by USA Today.
Other finalists for the award include Andre Barrett (New Yorok), Chris Duhom (Slidell, La.), Alton Ford (Houston), Eddie Griffin (Philadelphia), Darius Miles (East St. Louis, Ill.), Darius Rice, (Jackson, Miss.), DeShaun Stevenson (Fresno, Calif.), Marcus Taylor (Lansing, Mich.) and Gerald Wallace (Childersburg, Ala).
Jeffries has already been named a McDonald's all-America and he will participate in the national coaches' all-star game at the NCAA Final Four in Indianapolis.
