in Ten Days

Welcome to the wonderful world of research!

You have two weeks to complete a huge task:

Know Your Country Inside Out!!!!

At the end of two weeks, you will create:
        1) a PowerPoint presentation that includes specific information, collected from a variety of
            sources, about a country of your choice; and
        2) a travel brochure for your country, incorporating some of the information you collect

During the course of this research project, you will:

  • investigate the geographic location and features of your selected country
  • determine the time zone of your country and compare the time with South Carolina
  • calculate the exchange rate between the currency of your country and US dollars
  • investigate the primary language of your country and get audio samples of the language
  • compile important historical events of your country
  • investigate the culture and religion of your country
  • read and be able to tell a folktale or story of your country
  • examine the food of your country and prepare a recipe
  • research a game that was created in your country
  • know the clothing worn by people of your country
  • present your research to classmates in a PowerPoint presentation
  • create a travel brochure for your country

      - formatting and editing text
      - inserting clip art and scanned/saved images
      - saving and printing documents
    • use Internet, including skills such as
      - cutting and pasting text
      - choosing and saving images and audio files
    • create a basic PowerPoint presentation, including skills such as
      - formatting and editing text
      - inserting clip art and scanned/saved images
      - inserting audio files
      - viewing a slide show and using special effects such as transitions
      - saving and printing presentation--slides, outline, notes, and handouts
