Limmerance, (limerence)

.. the early state of being in love, in lust, or both, when two people see each other as perfect.

Stephenie

Hello, my name is Stephenie and I have become fascinated with being in a state of limmerance. I am also, like many, a romantic, which means that I consider a permanent state of limmerance to be ideal.

I have met a lot of people who have yearn for the same
pleasures that limmerance once brought to them. Life is suffering at times...
we feel deep in our heart that we have found our soulmate and then without notice
something happens... those feelings disappear without a trace
when we least expect it... the magic is gone.

"It is surely limerence that has caused writers to expound in passages like these:

And Jacob served seven years for Rachel; and they seemed unto him but a few days, for the love he had for her. --Genesis 1:6-14

Love is a human religion in which another person is believed in. --Robert Seidenbery

I felt as though the clouds were not on the horizon but under my feet. How sweet it was. --Liv Ullmann

Yearned for, dreamed about, and, for the fortunate, reveled in, limerence inspires even ordinary persons to verbal excess. It is called the supreme delight." --quoted from the book "Love and Limerence" by Dorothy Tennov

Don't be misled by my romanticism... limerence is something most of us experience but never have the good fortune to hang on to it for long.

First and foremost, like any lasting relationship, a good foundation must be established. We as individuals must be secure within ourselves and not rely on someone else to dictate how we feel. Self esteem is important in all that we do. To first love one's self is the greatest gift of all!

Second, we are all human, but I do believe we can view someone as perfect by loving them with such intensity that you are able to over look their faults. ~Yea, a very hard thing to do~

Lastly, we must realize that as romantic as the state of limmerance may seem... realitiy does play a role and keeping our feet firmly planted is vital.

Return often and take me, beloved sensation, return and take me when the memory of the body awakens, and old desire again runs through the blood; when the lips and the skin remember, and the hands feel as if they touch again... Return often and take me at night, when the lips and the skin remember

--C.P. Cavafy
