During the 15th century Spoleto was one of the most important Waldensian centres. Many Barba came from Spoleto. In July 1492 two Barba from Spoleto were arrested in Oulx (Val Susa, Piedmont): Francesco di Girundino and Pietro di Jacopo. During their trial other 13 Barba were mentioned: they all came from Spoleto and went across Europe meeting periodically in Limoges, Lyon and Tortona.
