I converted the Volume 2, Issue 2 (June 1997) to HTML and uploaded it. I also updated the Master index, the Poetry index, and the Talking With Sam index.

June 8, 1997

I just retuned from an unplanned, though pleasant visit with family in Atlanta, Georgia. Working with a 2400 baud modem, the best I was able to do was keep the weekly quote updated. The June issue of On The Path is complete and being printed now.

Aloha. Nimfa and I just got back from a few days in the paradise called Hawaii. Although the time was hectic and rushed, preventing us from doing any real sight-seeing, we still had time to enjoy each other's company and meet some interesting people. As a clown, I spread joy and smiles and love. But I don't have to dress as a clown to spread the zest of life to others. None of us do. The Clown's Prayer can apply to any of us at any time.

April 20, 1997

Between the last two weeks, Nimfa, Squeaky and I have been extremely busy performing magical clown shows. I call it clown therapy. It's a combination of work and fun to prepare, fun and work to perform, but the rewards are much deeper than the few dollars I get. The greatest joy I get is when a child runs up to me with a twinkle in their eyes, hugging me and saying "I love you." Hugs are special, but when an expression of love is added, it is priceless. I try to pay the world back for this love I receive and have made up some coupons for free hugs, and give them away often. Physical contact with another human being is important. If you need a coupon, sent me a note and I'll send you a couple quicker than you can say "Clown Wiggles and Worm Giggles."

The meaning of life can be one of the most elusive goals to pursue. Yet, it is an attainable goal. It's something we all ask ourselves at some time or other. It's something we all seek. I honestly don't know if it's something we all find, but I can speak for myself. I've found it. This week I took the time to write my intrepretation of this age-old question and invite you to check it out.

April 6, 1997

Birthdays, birthdays, birthdays. As Squeaky, Nimfa and I have been invited to dozens of homes to share in this sacred celebration. On the surface, this is to celebrate the birth of a child, but more and more I'm finding that for so many people, this is just another opportunity to celebrate friendships and to enjoy simple companionship. Looking back on my short 38 years, I realize that all of my favorite memories include the fellowship of others. With luck I'll never forget the importance of each fellow spirit I encounter On The Path.
To make a short story long, what I'm trying to say is that with all the clown shows Nimfa and I have been doing, I haven't done much new on the site except to update the quote and add a link in my Favorites page for a fellow Sailor (Dave Starling) who created a banner for me.

Updated quote of the week. Checked the stats and found I've received over 700 hits since I put the site up; nothing like Yahoo, but still a few people have found the site. And out of those, I've received some wonderful heartwarming emails. The guestbook on the other hand hasn't done what I expected and I took it out for now.

Updated Master Index and Poetry Index adding March 1997 issue. During a recent CREDO retreat I talked extensively with a gentleman named Don about meditation. He later gave me a copy of a poem he wrote and with his permission, I've added it to my site. Check it out: "Mind Rendering Love" by D. W. Griffiths.

I spent a tremondously rewarding weekend at a CREDO retreat. It's not often that I'm able to stop everything I'm doing and simply spend a few days with people, without worrying about all the daily problems of life. And each time, I find the closer I get to my brothers and sisters, the closer I get to God. Life is good.

Gave index page a face lift. Used a table format listing links on left and mission/purpose on right. Added a poetry index page. Changed quote of week. Started streamlining Issue index pages.

Asked for some feedback on my site and got it rather quickly from some people at the HTML Writer's Guild - thanks again. During an "upgrade"  I cut the pure text links to pages within the site thinking they're not needed. They are. I put them back on the index page and created a master index page for all the separate pages with content.

Joined Spirit Ring and added links. Also added link to the HTML Writer's Guild and a couple of other areas onto the index. Added notes on path to God to index.

Changed index page - added updated animated gif, change words around, added background, got rid of netscape animated gif. Changed this page, created table to move text over and added notebook background.

Created html document of December 96 igan archive and posted link. Gave up on java banner for now. Added weekly quote to home page in simple text.

Split the site into separate pages for easier editing on my part. Created Talking With Sam page and added link to it from index. Found random errors from Java on the banner so took it our for now.

Started playing with JAVA and added quote-a-week banner to index page.  Added links to geocities into each page within the site.  Added Spirit Within which will be in Vol 2, Issue 1 of On The Path.  Simplified this page for easier editing.

January 19, 1997

I updated On The Path and placed into the GeoCities Athens/Acropolis neighborhood.  I updated the Favorite Sites page and put it with On The Path.  My original home page remains on the KIC server and is pointed to from the About Me button.  I also created a banner for On The Path.

Animated Gifs.  I know, I know, they're not really new, but they're new to me.  And with so many of them in the public domain, they're much easier than I thought.
