The Metaphysics of Blue asks a few very simple and basic questions regarding reality assumptions.

1. What is meant by outside, external, X1, and what is meant by inside, internal, X2?

2. Does the brain experience what is external - X1, or does it experience its internal representation of the external object - X2?

3. Said differently, which is a truer statement: The computer monitor (or blue ball) that I am experiencing in front of me is external and in front of me, or the computer monitor (or blue ball) that I am experiencing in front of me is my brain's internal representation of the external computer monitor (or blue ball). Which object is my brain directly experiencing - X1 or its X2 representation? Am I experiencing what is outside - external to me or what is inside - internal - to me?

It really is very simple - isn't it? But out of these simple questions emerge some very strange things.
