"Jonathan is really bright-- he understands anything mechanical, and he has a great sense of humor. I don't understand why he still can't read."

"I can't take Kevin to a store or restaurant-- he gets totally out-of-control. People look at me like I'm a terrible parent, letting my child misbehave like that."

"Alissa's writing looks like chicken scratching. I drill her on her spelling words every night, but she still gets D's or F's on her tests."

"Peter's teacher says he hasn't heard a word she's said all year."

"Corey can be so sweet and caring at times, but at other times he seems filled with rage. He screams, tantrums, and cannot be reasoned with. He's a Jekyll-Hyde kid."

Many children today are experiencing learning and behavior difficulties. Often these children are given a diagnosis such as learning disabled, dyslexia, attention deficit disorder, oppositional-defiant disorder, or emotionally disturbed. They may qualify for special education at school, and medication may be suggested to help control behavior or increase attention span.

More and more parents are becoming concerned about the long- term effects of medication, and frustrated with their child's continued disruptive behavior and poor progress in school. This website is for parents who would like to explore alternative ways of helping their children.
