Wholistic Learning Therapies

My name is Ruth Donnelly. I am a Special Education teacher certified in the areas of Learning Disabilities, Behavior Disorders, and Cognitively Impaired. I teach students in grades K - 3 in a Resource Room setting. I also do private tutoring.

I am married (to a wonderful husband who HTML'ed these pages for me) and have three "spirited" children (you can see their pictures sprinkled throughout these pages). I began studying wholistic healing therapies 12 years ago, when my oldest child suffered from chronic ear infections. Through the use of homeopathy and nutritional approaches, we were able to solve this problem without resorting to surgical insertion of tubes.

As our children grew, each one presented us with new and different challenges. After seeing the success of wholistic therapies in eliminating ear infections, I began to turn to wholistic therapies first, before resorting to conventional medical interventions. The result has been three happy, healthy, and academically successful children. (They are, however, still very spirited, and are continually presenting me with new challenges!)

I hope that by sharing some of what I have learned in these pages and through the Wholistic Learning Therapies Forum, other parents may find effective, natural, and non-invasive ways of helping their children. I find wholistic healing fascinating, and there is always more to learn! I hope that we can share our questions, problems, solutions, and successes through the Forum, and support each other in learning more about this exciting topic.
