People call me DJ

I am retired from teaching English at a high school in Missouri which has an enrollment of around 900. My classes included Language Arts 11, British and World Literature, and Journalistic Writing. I was also the advisor for the school newspaper. My students were Honors juniors and college prep seniors.

My undergraduate degree is in English

with a psychology minor. My graduate degree

from NorthWest Missouri State University

is in guidance and counseling.

I am a member of a local Retired Teachers Association

I am active in partisan politics and served six terms as the Democratic Sixth Ward Committeewoman after I was first elected in 1984. In 1998, I was elected to the local city council for a four year term and again in 2002. I am now serving as Deputy Mayor.

In January, 1997, I attended the inauguration of Missouri governor Mel Carnahan and the Governor's Ball that evening.

In January of 2001, I attended the inauguration of current Missouri governor Bob Holden. The morning of the inauguration, I visited the governor's office.

In 2003, I attended the legislative ball. My sister and a friend and her sister went along too.

I have been divorced for many years. My daughter, son in law and two grandsons live in Kansas.

I first went on-line in February, 1996.

My experience with computers began in the mid 1980's with a primitive Radio Shack TRS 80. I bought a little Macintosh around 1987 and upgraded to a Power Mac in 1996. Now I'm using a Dell that I purchased in the fall of 2000. I also have a Dell laptop which is used exclusively for city business.

I enjoy sewing and make most of my wardrobe, like this outfit.

I also like to redecorate my home.

Thanks for visiting me.
