   Native United States Butterfly

      Errant Hummingbird

Have I seen you before?
Was it on a sailing vessel
Or in a distant bower,
Sitting near a shiny bore,
When waves began to swell,
Or flitting near a flower?
Have you eluded me all this time,
Flying 'bout? In stealth you excel,
Darting in and out in a blur,
In a tiny pantomime
Like a demoiselle.
