Into Motion
Salvador
Remember how Salvador's first CD was hopping with hip latin rhythms? Remember how unique that sound was? Hold on to those memories because this album does not have that. This CD is definitely more radio friendly, but it seems to have been by sacrificing what made Salvador unique. Sure there are some highlights like the second song on the CD, "City on a Hill", which is not related to the recent compilation CD by the same name. On this song they call believers to be a city on a hill. The song is hopping in most parts and really catchy. The problem is that this is one of the few songs like that. Another one is "God People" which calls out "God people, let's do this thing, we can dance and we can sing." It is not quite as hopping, but it is close. For those who speak Spanish, you will enjoy "Alegria" which has some good rhythms to it. Many songs are good lyrically including the first song, "Breathing Life", but not as much hop to them. "When I Pray" speaks of the "very same God who put the world into motion" and is a beautiful ballad.
Despite its flaws, this CD is still unique in its Hispanic flair, but this CD is more of a slow moving one full of ballads and medium speed songs. That being said, these songs are unique and several have some interesting lyrics.
