You might think that "Work Day," compared with all the great trips to see biblical places, would be joyless requirement.  In fact, it is anything but!  We love work days - what a chance to get out and make our home - Yad HaShmonah - look terrific.  We had three teams this year:

Bill's Bums: when they weren't throwing water balloons, they were working on the new library and path in front of the new buildings.

Cookie's Crumbs: they cleaned up the moshav entrance, fixed up the IBEX Office area, and spruced up the area around the miklat.

Todd's Toads: they made lots of progress in IBEX Park, including buildings several new paths, improving existing ones, weeding the entire park, and building a new bench swing!

Amy and Ruth clipped the ivy back so as to clear a nice bench area below the girls' dorms. Sarah helped weed the big flower bed in the park.

Leo held the tirea (Middle Eastern shovel) and looked important! Andrew fired up the weed whacker and cleared away a lot of summer growth.

Chet and Kim made a new path going from the girls' dorms to the park.  Here is a before and after picture.  They did a great job!

Randy explained about the caper bush to his group as they weeded the moshav entrance road. Sarah spent the morning painting trim in the new IBEX library.

Sunni liked ripping rogue grass out of the rock walls. Josh and Pat moved a lot of brush around.  Pat did a great job; we're still not sure what Josh was doing :-).

Charissa helped plant lots of new flowers in front of the IBEX Office. Allison was a chief weeder on "Todd's Toads."

Craig, Josh and Ruth took a rather wild section of the park and made several attractive new flowerbeds. Once we got the bench swing built (thanks Nate!), we couldn't keep Andrea and Leo off it!  Well, at least Leo enjoyed the moment. :-)
