Communication gives meaning
What's the use of anything without someone else to share it with? Are pleasure, money, rest, talent, or knowledge of any use by themselves? It is in the sharing of these things, for selfish or selfless reasons, that things have value.
If I were the most talented musician in the world, I would be pathetic if I never allowed anyone but me to hear me perform. Why even play a note? Music is a form of communicating with others, to leave a message in their souls. Any talent is only beautiful and useful when it is shared. Even if it is only to make oneself look good; that is still a form of communication.
Art for the sake of art, pleasure for the sake of pleasure, knowledge for the sake of knowledge are good for a moment. But, as humans we long for someone else to know how good these things are.
I suspect the reason why God created the universe at all was for us, so that we would communicate with Him. He made us so He would not be lonely or selfish, directing all his love to himself, but also to us. In creating advanced beings like us, He created companionship.
Human beings are capable of love, a powerful force that gives incredible satisfaction to those who are sincere about it. Even God is moved when we love him; He is moved when we love each other. It created a positive force of praise of His creativity, yes, but it also created beings who are also worthy of respect and admiration, ourselves.
How excellent and valuable God considered us that he paid the price of His son to rescue us when we used the gift of free will to rebel against what is good. We are important to Him
